Scott and Eric were tremendously swift and professional with the sale of our boat! Both are straight shooters and were very proactive in communicating any status changes and advice. My boat sold within a few months, and outside the boating season! Incredible! I also believe that they found the right buyer for our 52’ Jefferson. There are truly talented in matching the right boat to the buyer. If we were in the market to buy again we would certainly seek out Scott and Eric again. Bravo!
Iain and Elisha,
We recently took delivery a very clean, well maintained DeFever 41 in Baltimore MD that Scott Schramm of Bayport Yachts brokered. The vessel was exactly as Scott had described when we made the trip from Wilmington NC to view, much appreciated !! For our first trawler purchase we could not have been happier with the entire process from first viewing, to survey and finally closing. Scott navigated a couple of newbies through uncharted waters and we want to thank him for being patient and professional.
Thanks again Scott,
Del and Robin Carroll

We wanted to thank you for your superb services selling our boat. You exceeded our expectations by 364 days. We planned a year to sell the boat and you got it done in a day! Unbelievable! There were a few nervous moments through the process but you saw us through them with your experience and professionalism. Thanks so much and we highly recommend you to anyone looking to sell (or buy) a boat!

If you’re looking for honest, professional guidance in your yacht search, Eric is YOUR man!
We can’t say enough good things about Scott and Eric with regard to the successful marketing and sale of our boat. Where other brokers had failed, they came through with the understanding and knowledge not only of our boat, but of the type of buyer that would ultimately be interested it. With professional and friendly guidance from the listing agreement to the purchase and sale agreement – they were top notch all the way.

If you are looking for a classic Hatteras, you cannot do better than Eric and Scott. They know the market inside and out. From the initial showing to closing and beyond they have been responsive, informed and reassuring. We are now the delighted owners of a classic 1970 53 Motor Yacht and couldn’t be happier. Great experience all around. A real class act.
I can’t say enough good things about Scott and Eric at Bayport Yachts. They have many years experience between the two of them. So working with one of these professionals gives you the wisdom of both.
Primarily I worked with Scott Schramm. He is wonderful on all four phases of the purchase: boat acquisition, sale price negotiation, closing and delivery / set up.
Scott listened to my wants, needs, limitations and price range during the acquisition phase. I had a fairly clear idea of what I wanted and helped me find boats that were close to what I wanted. He started showing me a number of different models, listened to what I liked and disliked about each, which allowed him to quickly hone down the boats which were good candidates.
What is especially nice is that Scott helped me find a wonderful boat that was in the lower end of my price range. This was great because sales people (boat, house or car) find a way of “up selling” you into a more expensive unit. Scott didn’t!
Scott found an excellent boat that wasn’t more than I could afford.
After deciding upon a particular boat, Scott was great in negotiation. He was a great help in keeping me from overpaying. In fact, the final negotiated contract price was less than I had planned on paying.
Again, his professionalism and experience was incredibly helpful during the closing phase. Being there during the survey allowed him to understand the boats strengths and weaknesses. As an experienced licensed Captain, he knows what’s important for the integrity and safety of the boat, what’s cosmetic and what can be a potential deal breaking problem. Experienced boaters can appreciate the extra set of eyes, and novices can understand because he translates from “nautical talk” into English.
Needless to say, I certainly benefited from his fiscal aggressiveness when negotiating the survey allowance. (Between what he saved me on the contract and survey allowance, he saved me more than the total commission on the boat, which the seller pays.)
Because of a number of reasons, we had a very short time between the survey and final closing. There is a lot of financial and technical information that passes between the brokers, client, seller, marine banker and insurance persons. Scott kept this complicated process moving, even when two of the parties were independently tied up in in-office team building days. (What’s the chances of that?!) Scott kept his head and got the deal closed even working with that truncated schedule. There was a lot of pressure getting the deal done because of these extenuating “team building” circumstances, but even while he was busy with other clients, Scott’s expertise got all the myriad of details sorted out on time.
Because I bought a pre-owned boat, there were mechanical issues that came up on the survey which he helped rectify with his vast breadth of marine technicians.
Finally, when it came to the delivery, he and his associates were extremely knowledgeable and patient helping me understand the complex marine, mechanical, maintenance, hydraulic, electrical and navigational components of a vessel as complicated as today’s modern boats.
I couldn’t be happier with my new (to me) boat. Nor could I be happier with Scott and the staff at Bayport Yachts. Next time I buy a boat, I will have them represent me.

Thank you for all of your help in the purchase of our new boat/home. We love our new home and so do our dogs. It is not only beautiful & well maintained, it is also functional for our daily living.
Your knowledge and level of professionalism has been amazing. It was great meeting someone who really appreciates boats and knows what a live aboard boater is truly looking for in a home. We would like to express our deep appreciation for all of your help.

Dear Bayport Yachts,
My wife and I have been wrestling about buying a boat for some time. We are very new to boating, and when we decided to go ahead, Scott at Bayport Yachts made the process extraordinarily easy. He not only helped identify the right boat for us, but made the process significantly less daunting. He guided on the right pricing, and what to look for during the sea trials.
He even graciously helped motor our new boat from Annapolis to its new slip in Washington, DC. I would wholeheartedly endorse Scott and Bayport Yachts as your boat broker, and would use them again in a heartbeat.
We recently purchased a boat with Scott Schramm of Bayport Yachts, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He guided us through the purchase process and was with us every step of the way. We looked at several good boats, and in the end we purchased our perfect boat at a great price. We couldn’t be happier with our boat and although we don’t plan on looking for a new boat anytime soon, I’m sure the day will come – and we know Scott will be there with us!
Scott is as honest as they come. It’s clear that he is working for your referrals and not pushing you max out your budget for a large commission.

My wife and I had the pleasure to work with Scott Schramm at Bayport Yacht Sales this past Fall to buy our dream boat which was a 58’ Hatteras. He was easy to talk to, timely whenever we had a question and never felt any pressure to do anything we weren’t comfortable with.
We enjoyed his business ethics so much we asked him to sell our 1987 Chris Craft Catalina. Not only was he a great to deal with on this side but he was also quick in response whenever anyone had a question or was contacted by a potential buyer.
I just wanted to reiterate how pleased both Tim and I are with the excellent service you provided with the listing and quick sale of our yacht, TEMPTRESS.
An unbelievable 89 days from listing to buyer’s acceptance, in a very slow down market.
You did a marvelous job in marketing TEMPTRESS and I am happy to recommend your services to anyone.
Keep up the good work.

You may remember me; twenty one years ago I bought a 1971 36 Hatteras convertible which was for sale in Connecticut, and you were the selling broker. I still have the boat, I am on my third set of engines with her, and second paint job since I bought her.
She is a much loved and valued member of the family. Thanks for your exceptional professionalism and knowledge of boats old and new. I’ve only bought one boat from you in 21 years, but that was because you sold me the right one, and I haven’t needed to change out of her.
Jim Rosenthal, M.D.
The funds from the sale of my 53 Defever have arrived in my account.
Thanks so much for everything. You did a GREAT job !!!!

“The Walrus” is now at her new home in Clayton, NY. I want to thank you for all your help in making it possible for Jan and I to enjoy our new yacht. It was a somewhat complicated purchase and you rolled with the punches throughout the process. Your continued interest and help after the sale makes your brokerage different from the others. You were always there for us when we needed advice on what to do and who to call to get “The Walrus” ready for her 650 mile trip North. Being snowbirds based in Florida and Northern New York, we were unfamiliar with the Chesapeake. With your help all the issues with the yacht were resolved and our trip was uneventful (just the way we like it.) Please feel free to share this note with any of your clients.
You will be pleased to know that “Gypsy Girl” is in Jupiter and safely tied at our dock. She arrived at about 3 pm yesterday.
Capt Mark and Charlie did a great job in bringing her own. She looks great and seems none the worse for the trip.
Tom and Peggy Pettibone
Just to let you know Pat arrived home today, the journey through all the locks went very well, the crew enjoyed themselves (I, unfortunately, had to return home to the business) and the boat performed beyond our expectations. The sellers had certainly left her looking great and ready for this trip. This is the cleanest boat we ever purchased.
We want to thank you for your work and your honesty. You really described her truthfully and we were not disappointed. We will definitely recommend you as a top notch broker should anyone we know require assistance in finding a boat.
All the best,
Celine & Pat Shank

Many thanks for your prompt attention to the key aspects of the business.
I have enjoyed working with you and appreciate the effort you put into the selling of my 36 Monk.
Dr. Peter Wilding
I cannot believe the time and trouble you went to in getting everything done before I arrived to pick up my 57′ Chris Craft. Your attention to detail is amazing.
The service at Bayport Yachts is like doing business with a “concierge” yacht brokerage!
Thanks for everything.

I was very pleased with your prompt attention and professional manner in selling my Ranger Tug. You have found a buyer for her in less than 30 days. I could not be happier.
I look forward to doing business with you and Bayport Yachts in the future.
Richard S. duPont
I just wanted to let you know how pleased Clara and I have been with the way you have handled the sale of our boat. We particularly appreciated not having to be involved in the details of showing the boat, answering questions and in any way dealing with tire kickers.
It has been a pleasure to work with someone so responsive and professional.
The purposes of this letter are to thank you and to compliment you.
We are going to pick up and take home to New York, our new modestly used Jefferson this coming weekend. Except for our future retirement home in Florida, it is the most expensive thing we have ever bought.
It was with great trepidation that we convinced ourselves to buy this boat since it was in less than Bristol condition and needed some work to make it acceptable and safe enough for our needs and standards. Since we live quite far away, and I am out of town on business every week, I could see no way to identify and retain the multiple quality vendors needed to work on the boat to make it suitable to take home.
You have made what could have been a difficult and trying experience an absolute joy. Other brokers might have completed the sale and ignored the rest.
Instead, you have suffered dozens of nuisance phone calls; you have arranged for very fine support vendors with fair rates to service the many items the boat needed to have serviced. You have gone out of your way in making trips to pick up parts from as far away as Baltimore. You have offered us your vehicle, agreed to pick up our friends who will crew for us on the voyage home, and you have been so solicitous as to make us feel completely welcome in the entire process of imposing upon you and your time.
We have owned five boats before this and four houses, so we know something about brokers. Your conduct has been special, unique, unlimited in its generous expenditure of patience and time.
I would recommend your services to anyone.
Both Elaine and I are much relieved at having found you and worked with you.
We appreciate your care, concern and focus on us. It felt as if we were your only clients, and really you worked for the seller, not us in theory. We feel as if we met a made a good friend.
Thank you very much.
Sorry I haven’t contacted you sooner.
Wow what an adventure! Lots to tell.
We had to wait in Savannah for about 7 days before our new 57’ Carver was loaded on the ship. She is finally on the way now, due in Newcastle Australia on the 22nd of July. We’re getting excited. Thanks again for organizing the spare parts to bring along on the transport. And a special thanks Eric, for introducing us to Captain Bern. I haven’t met a nicer broker or skipper. If we ever do a yacht purchase again in your country I will certainly be chasing you both down to work with us again.

Mary and I wanted to thank you for taking on the challenge of selling our gasoline powered express cruiser during this particularly troublesome time. Your understanding, cool head and professionalism are appreciated. Thanks again.

My wife and I would like to tell you how happy we were with your services throughout the entire purchase of our Mainship. From the first phone call to the very last, you always answered our calls and tended to our concerns every step of the way. Right down to finding a new Captain for us who was able to accommodate us when our Captain cancelled in the 11th hour. In our opinion, you handled this deal seamlessly and we would gladly recommend you to anyone who was seriously interested in buying their dream vessel.
Thanks again for an outstanding job.

We have the “no boat” remorse, but are pleased to be relieved of the care of a nice old boat. Thank you so much for your persistence and excellent assistance in seeing our Grand Banks “Baythoven” into the hands of a capable new owner.
Bill and Marion Price
Thank you so much for the professional manner which you exhibited in selling “Chessie” our 42 Grand Banks. The next time John and I pass Kent Narrows, we will stop by to say “Thank You” in person.

In all probability you will not remember us. We bought a 32 foot Trojan from you. We have had our boat for ten years now and have really appreciated her. We have done many nice upgrades to her and she still looks like brand new. We were discussing the day when we would have to sell our boat and that it might be a good idea to bring her back to you at Bayport. But, that won’t be any time soon!
I thought you would like to know how happy we have been with this boat these last ten years. She has been well cared for and is still a beauty. I hope all is well there at the beautiful Bayport Yachts and that you are selling lots of boats.
